Forgotten
Felines & Fidos is completely run by wonderful volunteers who have
unselfishly given their time, energy, love, and skill to thousands of
animals who otherwise would have been left abandoned, susceptible to
disease and cruelty, and rapidly reproducing more unwanted pets. Their
reward? Contributing to placing pets into forever homes where they are
kept safe, healthy, and most of all - loved. Volunteers are always
welcome and appreciated - and every little bit does help.
Fostering Fostering
a cat or kitten(s) is a fun and rewarding job that helps to ensure the
animal's adoption. Fostering involves accepting the feline(s) into your
home, either contained in a cat cage or small room, and socializing it
to "home life". By providing a secure and loving environment to your
foster, you teach it to trust and love human companionship - while
preparing it for a wonderful, forever home. This is one of the most
important and gratifying ways to volunteer your time. You will also be
provided the option of bringing your foster(s)to our Kitten Kapers
adoption center held every Saturday, where you can actively participate
in finding your feline a wonderful home. For more information on Fostering and to fill out a application contact us at forgottenfelinesandfidos@yahoo.com
Cleaning The
shelter house and barn are home to about 150 felines on any given day,
so the need to clean is endless. Any time that you can donate to help
clean food bowls, wash linen, clean litter boxes...etc, is VERY
appreciated. The bulk of the work is done daily(including weekends and
holidays) by just a few volunteers who would always appreciate the help
and the break.
Flyers
FFF
frequently has fundraising events that can be enjoyed by anyone. The
hardest part is spreading the word. The flyers are print-friendly, and
can be done in color or black and white, then hung in pet & grocery
stores, at work etc.. Latest flyers will be listed here as they become
available.
Fundraising
We
often can use extra volunteers for our various fundraising events. In
the past these have included such things as:gift wrapping, yard sale,
working amusement rides, baking...etc.Another way to help with
fundraisers is to help sell candy, pies, or hoagies to your neighbors,
coworkers, &/or family. Please look at our calendar of events for
upcoming sales. You can call or email the contact person running the
sale, pick up an order form, collect orders, turn in the order form, and
pick up or have items delivered for you to distribute.
This
could involve donating hand-sewn cat beds, pillows, catnip toys, knitted
or crocheted blankets, handmade novelty items...etc. to be sold at our
Kitten Kapers.
