It is almost time for kitten season to start and the chances grow slim for adult cats although it is adult cats that can prove to be a better match for some families. Adults are less destructive, have predictable personalities, and crave affection. Kittens are cute but can be a handful due to needing extra vet visits for proper inoculations and for spaying and neutering. They never seem to stop moving and the need to 'kitten-proof' your home is important. When choosing a kitten, you'll never know if it will grow up to be a lap cat, or a solitary feline. A lot has to do with how much time you have to spend with it, but there is a good part too that depends on the personality itself, which will take time to develop. Very small kittens are not a good match for very small children because kittens are easily injured and children are too often scratched. So consider these well adjusted, loving cats when looking to adopt!
Laura - Female approx. 3 yrs old. Left behind when the homeowner moved. The new owner was going to shoot the cat because it wouldn't leave. This cat was brought in with a severe injury to the eye, which had to be removed for fear of infection. Laura does not like other cats and has tolerated living in a cage for a while. She was friendly and appeared grateful to be taken care of. But even with her excersize time out of her cage, she is fed up with confinement and has begun to act out. She is clearly unhappy and we are desperate to find a good home for her. An unhappy cat can affect the surrounding cats so her adoption would create peace & harmony. This is an urgent plea.
Spicy - Female 1 yr old. Found at a daycare center. Super friendly. Definately was someones' cat and they abandoned her. She prefers to be an only cat. Is very social and outgoing!
Inky Inky - This is an awesome boy who deserves another chance at an indoor only home. We don't know much about his background except that he was someone's abandoned pet. He tolerates other cats but would probably do very well as an only cat. He likes to lay on a high shelf most of the day. He loves attention and loves being petted- so much so he paws at you when you take your hand away. But he is not declawed so that means you have to be careful. He is not aggressive in any other way. He may be 3 yrs old, we don't know for sure. He is neutered, Leuk neg and up to date on shots. Please call the shelter for an appt to see him.610-760-9009.
Sydney"- a lovely tortie lady- was returned due to no fault of her own- after 10 years! She is completely adorable and affectionate- rolls over for a belly rub. Likes to head butt you. She is a bit overwhelmed by all the cats at the shelter. Sydney would love to go to a quiet household with someone that will give her a full commitment for the second half of her life. She is spayed, up to date on shots, FelV neg.
"Reuben"- handsome and lovable orange and white boy- he recently lost his 81 yr old owner. His favorite place is under the sheet on the sofa at the shelter, but when you sit next him he immediately comes out for attention. He is an affectionate, mellow boy. He just needs someone to give him a chance to live the rest of his life in a home being someone's constant companion. Reuben is 10 yrs young, in good health, friendly and affectionate; neutered, up to date on shots.
