  • Are you funded by the state/government? 
    • No, we are a 501c(3) Nonprofit No-Kill Animal Shelter, and are entirely funded by private donations and fundraising projects.
  • How long do you hold animals? 
    • We hold animals as long as it takes for them to get a forever home. Some become permanent residents, if not adoptable for various reasons.
  • What are the requirements for adoption?

  • Where and when can I see animals available for adoption?
    • We are open for  adoptions most Saturdays 12:00-4:00. Our shelter is located at :6022 Mountain Rd, Germansville, PA 18053.

  • How can I find our more about adopting from Forgotten Felines and Fidos, Inc.?
  • Are all of your animals spayed and neutered?
    • All of our animals are spayed/neutered once they are 4 months of age.
  • Are all of the animals that are available for adoption on Petfinder?
  • Can I adopt a pet if I am under the age of 18?
    • No, your parent or guardian would have to be the legal adopter.
  • Can I bring my dog to the shelter to see the pet that I am going to adopt?
    • No, that would not be a good idea in our shelter.
    • We have only cats, and just bringing the dog there to meet the cat is not necessarily a good way to tell if they will get along.
    • We advise our adopters how to make the proper introductions once you are home with them.
 
  • How do I place an animal in your care?
    • Because we are a NO-Kill shelter, space is very limited and there is a waiting list.  Our waiting list is based on the animal’s need.
  • What should I do if I find a colony of feral cats?
  • How long do you keep strays at your facility before you place them for adoption?
    • We have a quarantine period and then they are placed for adoption if they are healthy.
  • Do you offer a trap, neuter and return program for feral cats?
  • I think my neighbor is being cruel to his pets. What should I do?
    • You need to contact your community’s cruelty investigator.
  • Do you pick up stray animals?
    • No, we simply do not have the manpower or shelter space to do that.
  • Can I check on an animal that I dropped off?
    • That would require permission from our shelter manager. You would have to call ahead: 610-760-9009.
  • I am interested in adopting the animal that I dropped off.
    • That would depend upon the total circumstances and would be at the discretion of our shelter management.
  • Is there a fee to drop off an animal?
    • If we can take in an animal, we would ask for a donation-as much as you can afford.
  • Is the clinic open to the public?
    • Yes, by appointment-call 610-760-9009
  • Do you offer vaccination clinics?

  • Can I get my animal spayed for free?
  • Can we bring our animals there to be euthanized?
    • NO, this is a service that must be provided by your veterinarian. We can provide you with a list of vets to call. There are a few veterinarians in the area that do house calls just for this purpose.
  • Do you put animals “to sleep” after a certain amount of time?
    • No, we are a NO-Kill shelter. The time the animals stay here is not a factor.
  • Does the shelter have a veterinarian that can see my family pets?
    • We can provide information on local veterinarians
